This June, Hog Roast Polstead catered for a wonderful birthday party to celebrate Claire turning 70. The event took place at Quanea Farm, Ely, which is a lovely rural venue that was perfect for the occasion. The sun was shining, Claire was surrounded by 45 of her closest friends and family, and she had a delicious meal from Hog Roast Polstead to enjoy- what could be better? For the catering, our managers Ria and Paul created the perfect menu for the party, complete with a wide selection of main dishes and sides to ensure that there was plenty for everyone to enjoy.
On the day of the party, the Hog Roast Polstead team arrived at the venue in the morning and began preparing for the midday serving time. We began by slow-roasting the hog and allowing it to cook for over five hours to ensure that it was packed full of natural juices and flavours. Once ready, the succulent hog was expertly carved and served in a selection of fresh bread rolls and wraps, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. For meat-free guests, we also provided grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers, which were also available without halloumi for any vegan guests. The main dishes were accompanied by herb dressed new potatoes, a tomato and mozzarella salad, and our gourmet coleslaw, which helped to create a varied and nutritious lunch for the party guests!
